The
DualSoft Water Softening System
The award-winning
DualSoft Water Softener's patented control system won first place at both the Nebraska Inventors' Fair, and
the Minnesota Inventors' Fair. The DualSoft system features two
resin tanks and a salt tank. (The resin tanks may be placed in side
the salt tank to conserve space.) Inside each resin tank is a center
pipe to funnel water from the bottom of the tank back to the top of the
tank.
Water
enters the tank through the top and flows through the resin to the bottom
of the tank where it enters the center pipe. As the water passes
through the resin, an ion exchange takes place. The dissolved solid
ions are exchanged with sodium ions which have been retained by the resin.
We know how many gallons of soft water we can provide through each resin
tank before over-saturation takes place.
Using
DualSoft's patented controller and water
meter, we can define the maximum number of gallons of soft water that can
be provided through the tank before it needs to be regenerated. When
the pre-determined number of gallons of water have passed through the
tank, the controller shuts off that tank and opens water for household use
to the other tank. Simultaneously, the controller opens a valve to
regenerate the spent tank. And, since we have a source of treated
water, we use that water to regenerate the spent tank. (We do not
use dirty water in our appliances to clean and neither do we remove fouled
water from the DualSoft
water softener with dirty water.)
When
the resin tank becomes saturated with dissolved solid ions, the system
automatically reverses itself and the cycle repeats.
Because
we always have a tank ready to provide soft water, there is no need to
regenerate when no water use is expected. No night time regenerations are
ever required. In short, we never regenerate the system
unnecessarily. With DualSoft's
water meter measuring water amounts, we never exceed capacity and
send (dump?) hard water into your household or water heater.
With
our patented system we are also able to regenerate each tank with merely 2
pounds of salt and approximately 30 gallons of water. This contrasts
with between 8 to 12 pounds of salt and approximately 200 gallons of water
for each regeneration using the popular systems in use today—including
other single tank timer systems and single-tank metered systems.
This
translates to a savings of 75% to 90% in salt and water.
If
you are environmentally concerned, as are the states of California,
Arizona, and Oregon, you will surely consider the DualSoft
Water Softener—the most effective water softener
available today.
Testimonials
"Something
must be wrong with my new softener because it is not using any
salt."
(It does use a little. The one replaced was using 8
bags a month)
Ken Harskamp, Ida Grove, IA
I just added
about 20 pounds of salt to the tank in late June. This is
the first that I have added salt since you installed it on March
17, 07
Phil Sisson, Greene, IA
I love the
water and the Softener is using less than a 40 # bag of salt a
month. We were using over 3 bags a month with our old softener.
Jim Spiegel, Ft. Dodge, IA
The salt usage
has dropped about 80% since you installed the new system.
Gene Veltkamp, Sioux Center, IA
Thank you for
installing the new softener, it is using a very small amount of
salt.
(This one unit with 2" water flow replaced 3 Kinetico units.)
Chinese Restaurant in Cedar Rapids, IA
Thank you for
installing your softener at my place. We had company,
children, and grandchildren visiting over the year-end holidays
and we never did run out of soft water.
Mrs. Leroy Robinson, Storm Lake, IA
It was a
pleasure working with you during the installation of the softener.
We love the water and it is using less than half of the salt of
our old "single tank timer" softener.
Paul Maassen, Rock Valley, IA
It looks like I will be using less
than 2 40# bags of salt a year. We love the water.
Tom Maring, Cedar Rapids, IA
I am writing to you to give my endorsement for the Varner Water Softener System.
Mr. Varner installed my system approximately 15 months ago. I would say I used, maybe three bags of salt this
last 15 months and the quality of the soft water seems better than my old Culligan system. The savings for a larger
installation would be enormous, so I hope this is helpful in your decision process. Please call me with any questions.

Bob, I hereby attest to my
personal experience with the residential water softener you
installed at our home a couple years ago. As you know, we
have an acreage located 2 miles east of Ida Grove, Iowa and have a
private well located on our property. The problem with the
well is it has hard water and we were finding calcium build up in
the water lines and in our appliances in the home.
My wife was particularly disgusted with the dish washer and the
fact that her glassware was being tarnished from the hard
water. I admit to being a little apprehensive about
installing a water softener for 2 reasons. I didn't like the
"soapy film feeling" I would get on my skin from the
shower with previous soft water experience and I did not want to
have to drink soft water because of the "salty
taste".
After visiting with you, I thought I'd take the chance because you
were offering a machine that used much less salt consumption and
you offered a bypass line to the kitchen for drinking water.
Well, we received exactly what you had promised me. My wife
is so happy with the outcome with clean, clear glassware out of
our same dishwasher that she had previously complained
about. The shower provides soft water without the slick film
being left on your skin and I drink the water from all the taps in
the house and cannot distinguish the soft water from the untreated
drinking water tap.
We are using much less soap for washing clothing, dishes, etc. and
we only use 3 bags of softener salt per year! Your softener
has paid for itself in salt, soap and water usage and we could not
be more pleased!
Thank you for providing us with this outstanding water softener!
Sincerely,
